2009
i'm a 21st century digital boy i don't know how to live but i got a lot of toys
Promised not to complain about Mondays anymore. I won’t. Although it didn’t go all that well this time either. I was feeling efficient and decided to clear out my work queue.
Only one itchy bitchy
problem came to light – I had no keys with me today. Did I already mention it’s autumn holidays at schools this week. Keys were pretty hard to come by, but I managed to borrow me some.
In the evening it was time to rake up the backyard. Phew… there was a leaf or two.
Sunday was couch day. Again. Watched a couple of movies, a light comedy for starters and something deeper afterwards.
Year One (2009) – Oh boy, did this movie suck or what? I don’t like Jack Black and the jokes were so not funny. NOT recommended.
I retrieved my car from Jyväskylä where it slept over the night.
Seven Pounds (2008) – Great movie. Will Smith has lately been in many good movies (Hancock, I Am Legend, The Pursuit of Happiness). Highly recommended.
Sunday sauna hit the spot.
Big Brother.
Enter Sandman.
Today we visited our godson Otso who lives in Virrat rock city. Otso has a name day tomorrow but we had to ‘party’ a day early since we had to leave back home today.
I took a quick car wash on my way home from Virrat although those brushless car washes are somewhat a joke…
Soon we are of to Jyväskylä to my granny’s birthday party. We’re gonna enjoy some dinner and most probably it’s gamble time after that $$$.
Medium- steak, here I come!
UPDATE: Nice evening. Dinner was great and as I guessed earlier, it was gamble time after that. We spent numerous hours at Club RAY Casino. I won three figures so I guess it was okay. We drank pretty good (and expensive) whiskeys with Antti and had marvelous time. My 40.5×2 year old Grandma is a real steel-granny.
Around midnight, a classic Mercedes Benz took as home. Awesome – more cars with class and/or attitude are welcome as Taxis.
It’s Friday, Yay! The morning was really cold, good thing Webasto had warmed up my car. At work I found a pleasant surprise – some friendly soul had charged the helldesk phones over night. Cheers for that.
Work hours flew by fast and most of the time it was a blast. I honestly believe that by having fun while working, one actually increases his/her work efficiency.
Earlier this week I already got the 17” summer wheel set sold and today I sold the 16” winter set also. Now I’m rollin’ in dough until I get the 18” winter set from the local tire shop.
After work we headed for Virrat for a short stay.
Whoa! I have been an easy target. Yesterday a telemarketer sold me a magazine for 12 months with some good extras. I usually don’t go for these, but I don’t know what’s with me now – today a telemarketer was offering me a satellite deal and guess what – I went for it!
I also invested for new winter rims and tires today. I chose Volvo Pegasus (R-Replica) Hyper Black 18” rims with Hakkapeliitta 5 tires. At first I was supposed to get the new Hakkapeliitta 7 tires, but they cost nearly 100 euros more per tire so I went for the nearly identical 5’s. I’m not sure if those rims where the best choice, but I didn’t want anything polished for the winter since polished finish doesn’t go too well with salt and crappy weather conditions. And after all, they are Volvo R replicas – can’t go much wrong with those.
At lunch hour I visited local tax office – for nothing. Damn I hate it when I (or any other tiny individual for that matter) gets kicked in the head by society. Not sure if I should post this here, but I’m pissed enough to do it:
Hooray for underground economy!
Today was the day of troubles… or more like problems – and mostly of the fun kind. The match-camels were a bit frustrating but then again, there’s something to do tomorrow on coffee breaks.
Got a packet of “gifts” from Hong Kong. No mosquito repellents this time
Also watched a movie called “State of Play”. It was quite ok, but I have to admit that I slept at the end. That was just the fatigue talking not that the movie was dull. Of to bed now so I’m all vivid and cheerful tomorrow
It’s been a nice weekend @ home. My cousin visited with his family and we had a great time. We didn’t actually do anything special, we just hanged and the hours flew by. 2 year old Veeti was the center of attention the whole weekend. What a sweet kid
Not everything went smooth though – Veeti forgot his Mazda RX7 and his father forgot his meds, coat and wallet at our place when they left… Doh!
In the evening I had a headache with tires once again… I can’t figure out what to do. Should I sell both 16” and 17” sets and get new 18” inch rims for winter? Or, should I waste those 17” summer tires that aren’t quite done yet and recycle those rims for winter tires. I kinda like the 17 inch rims, but we’ll see.
