25 kilometers in 1 hour.
Today I was an answering machine at work. It’s my turn to do helldesk all week. It’s not that bad… the only downside is that one is so tied to the phone that there’s little else that can be done all day – or week. That kinda sucks when you’ve got other things in your work queue that you’ll just have to put aside. I don’t complain though, it’s nice to be all week in a same place and to see colleagues that I too rarely see in my normal line of work. Oh btw, I got a new surname on phone today – Kampela. From now on, I might go by the alias Henri Kampela
After work I punished myself even more. I took Bianchi for a ride again. It sucks that I have to pedal the same road over and over again, since it’s the only way to do a decent circle near my home. If I would take any other road, I’d have to turn 180° to get back. Now, how likely is it that I’ll manage to do 25 clicks if I can turn around any time I like. Wouldn’t happen, I’d turn around much earlier.

My birthday invitation.
Today was pretty ordinary day at home.
I played Wii Sports Resort for few hours and returned some rental DVD’s to Jyväskylä. I’ve also been arranging data on my computer since I have six HDD’s lying around the floor and I need to check them through to collect everything I need in one place. I’ll sell all HDD’s below 500 GB and aim to replace them with a NAS solution if only I’d find time to do it. Well, now I’m through half of the HDD’s and hope to do the rest tomorrow.
Kirsi made delicious sushi which we enjoyed with some white wine. Then it was time for Wii-gaming again before I got started with my birthday invitation. Got an idea where I’d be with a walker so I had a picture of me taken in a position where I’d be standing with a walker that I’d later on “photoshop” to the picture. Turned out pretty funky if you ask me, I also added text with a wobbly handwriting font.

Flying a plane with Wii.

Delicious sushi.

I'm enjoying sushi.

Some of the stuff...
I wonder if I really ordered all this stuff
Right after work I got Bilstein B12 suspension kit for my car from Matkahuolto. It came in two big boxes, the other one didn’t fit in the trunk. At home our mailbox waited with its lid partially open – it was full of clothes. In fifteen minutes or so the phone rang, it was a deliveryman who was on his way to bring me the freezer I bought yesterday. Being a bit of a materialist it’s nice to get new stuff.
I quickly washed my car and then installed the freezer in its place. The clothes were great except a pair of shorts that I ordered in size M and they arrived in XL. They weren’t that short… I’ll have to return them.
In the evening we watched two movies, “Erottamattomat” and “Pride and Glory“.

Palerider's new seat post.
After a successful day at work, I headed for Etola to buy some Plexiglas that I needed for my clock project. Afterwards, on my way to Biltema I stopped by Gigantti and bought a freezer that’ll be delivered to home tomorrow. Need to get them berries (that the warez successfully spared) preserved for the winter.

8'' floppy clock. Teh l33t.
From Biltema I bought chain lubricant and a new seat post for the Palerider. Well actually it wasn’t a seat post but a sort of a handle that you attach to a kid’s bike and push it up the hills or something like that. Some grinder and the other half of it became a perfect seat post and the other half serves as a spare one for later use. Now the bike’s got even more laid back feeling.
While I got my DIY-gear on, I also made an über 1337 clock. I’ll hang it on the wall next to my work desk.

The Prodigy.
Phuckin’ A! Forgot to write about the Prodigy tickets I got yesterday. Prodigy is THE electronic music group for me - always has been and always will be. I have even partly sacrificed the hearing of my right ear for the band – and I’m not even angry about it. Why would I be, it has all been worth it. Maybe I just got a bit too heavy setup in my first car
Hell no, what am I talking about? No set is heavy enough for electronic music. You just can’t beat then feeling when listening to Prodigy loud enough. When the bass kicks, I’m game. Let them ears bleed.
I’ve seen Prodigy live once. It’s was some fifteen years ago and that gig sure was a trip to remember. While heading to Helsinki by train my stomach got really bad. I tried my best to numb it with warm IVB beer, but it wasn’t easy. No matter what, we got in Hartwall Arena to feel the beat. The trip back home with a bus was no doubt the worst experience in my life. My appendix was toasted. I new it right away since my father suffered the same sh*t just a year back. Couldn’t sit and there was no space to lie down. I cried in agony and somehow survived the trip back home. It was almost morning when I got home and I tried to sleep a while… Yeah right, like I could. I told my parents to take me to a hospital where doctors gave me few diazepams (worthless, if you ask me) and some wise words about drinking beer and listening to the best electronic band in the world… Yeah, yeah cut that sucker out already.
So I’ve given some of my hearing skill and 4 inches of me guts to the band. That should count something, don’t you think? Anyways, I’m off to listen to Prodigy again at Helsinki in 12. Nov 2009. Let’s see how bad I get smacked up this time – now I’m the one who’s got the poison, let’s hope they got the remedy.

Big Brother is watching everyone of us.
Big Brother Finland 2009 has begun. It’s not cool to criticize people, but what a crew – yet I’m hooked to watch more. Maybe not very interesting people this time – on the other hand people can still be too nervous to act natural. Let’s see how it turns out in a week or so. Level-headed straight eyebrow shaver got a bit on me nerve but otherwise than that the show looked good.

Henry's Café.
Normal (well not normal for me, but…) day @ work for a change. Even got time to enjoy some java with a colleague. It’s nice to sit down once or twice a week and see things through with some thought. Got my room organized even more, now I have an excellent setup to test up stuff. I also have a separate place to make ‘lunch’ and coffee – named it Henry’s Café.
You’re welcome to try Henry’s servings:
A cup of coffee (also with milk) 0.50 EUR
A cup of Silver Tea 0.00 EUR
A cup of Daim Cappuccino 1.00 EUR
A cup of Van Houten Chocolate drink 1.00 EUR
A can of Battery Stripped 2.50 EUR
Sandwich (fillings vary) 1.00 EUR

Submarine's Greek salad.
Nothing much happened today… Cleaned up my room at work, organized everything in boxes and cupboards. In the afternoon we enjoyed two Submarine’s Greek salads and Cokes for the price of one in Jyväskylä. An offer for students(!) from a newspaper called Keskisuomalainen.

7's Device Manager.
It’s Monday 2:50 am, hence the post title. I’ve been arranging stuff all day. Had to tear apart my old work desk and all computer related stuff that it was loaded with to make space for the brand new desk I got from Ikea. While I started I decided to be thorough and cleaned up my computer and even got all HDD’s bolted _inside_ the computer case. They have been all over the desk with the case open. Now it’s nice and clean with the new desk in its place.

7's Performance Test.
Well, it’s not actually that tidy yet… there’s cables and cords all over the room and half a dozen HDD’s on the floor accompanied with some old processors and display adapters. I’ll try to think of some place to hide them so I can take a photo of my new lair. I also installed my computer from the scratch… that’s why I’m still up in the middle of the night. Now it’s loaded with Windows XP and Windows 7 dual boot.
Over and out.

Go ahead and laugh. Got tired while waiting the bus.
How to feel like a real shell suit Finn? I’ll give you one option – first thing you need to do is setup your wake up alarm at 6:00am. Then you hastily make a take-a-away breakfast at home and head to bus station. The bus then takes you on a four-hour drive to Helsinki where you take another bus to Ikea that locates in Espoo. You buy some utmost important things there and take a run for the bus leaving back to Helsinki. From Helsinki you take yet another bus that takes you to another Ikea that locates in Vantaa. You buy the rest of the utmost important things there and then you wait for about two hours for the bus that finally takes you home. Yes, it takes more than four hours to get back, since the unloading of purchases takes some time on every station where people leave the bus.
Why go to two different Ikea stores and not just buy everything from one and spent the rest of the time doing something more fun and useful. Well, not all the Ikeas have everything in stock :/

My new table and chair.
Well, what do you get? This time you, or actually I, got a new work desk, chair, lamp and some other accessories. Bus tickets for two were 40 euros so should you take your own car, it would be more expensive and all the stuff wouldn’t even fit in your sedan. Would I do it again next weekend? Hell no. Would I take the same bus for 20 euros to Helsinki to do something else? Most deffinitely.
All in all, it was a very good trip. Got everything I needed (and more
). The only downside was that the whole perfectly sunny Saturday went by while sitting in a bus.
