Blah.. I paid 50 euros for storing those winter tires at the tire shop. They were supposed to be cleaned for the price. Well, they weren’t. I had to wash them myself at below zero temperature  While at it, I decided to wash those original 17 inchers too. I’ll have to do a photo shoot with all three rims beside the car – the 16, 17 and 19 inchers. That’ll help me decide if I could even remotely think of bolting those tiny 16” rims under the car.

Right now I’m waiting for my cousin to arrive with his family. They’ll be visiting us for the rest of the weekend.

Friday. What a great day starting from the morning and continuing all the way up to midnight.

I got winter tires for the Volvo today from Euromaster where they were stored over the summer. They are on 16” alloys and seem awfully small. I think I’ll sell them away and buy new winter tires on the original 17” summer rims.

Today I finally got my new stove installed. I got it about a week ago already and cleared the old stove away at once. I decided to get new stones to the new stove and those normal 5-10 centimeter stones just didn’t speak to me… I had to get bigger. 10-15 centimeter stones seemed perfect.

I also needed some other parts to get the new stove installed so there has been no sauna for over a week :/

It’s all fixed now and the Stoveman stands proudly in its place. It works like a charm by offering really long lasting and smooth löyly. And it sure looks good too.

Poor Volvo. All frozen.

Poor Volvo. All frozen.

In the morning it was minus degrees outside and my car was pretty frozen. Had to drive really carefully since roads also had an icy coating. Somebody had slipped his/her BMW out of the road on my way to work. Lakes looked wicked with a thick coat of mist hovering above them.

Weird day it was altogether. Had a lot done although it doesn’t show in my work list…

Misty lakes all around.

In the evening I watched some more True Blood and of course Big Brother – which had an interesting ending. Nino is out!

Gypsy queen is no match for these.

Gypsy queen is no match for these.

I have? Well, they do. From now on, I promise not to complain about Mondays anymore, unless something really shitty happens.

Let’s just do something about it…

I rigged up my good old NAD 214 to drive Infinity Alpha 5’s. Blah, they sounded like crap. Had to change to AKG headphones. Phuckin’ A, they really work.

Huge bug. I hope there is a patch coming to fix it.

Huge bug. I hope there is a patch coming to fix it.

Few beers and some music is the best medicine to any f*cked up feelings and problems one could possibly have. Works for me anyways. Make it “a few” if the “few” doesn’t seem to fix it!

BTW, while packing my car after work I found a huge bug stuck between the trunk lid and the car body. The cigarette butt is about 2 inches, so you figure out the size of that mother. Yuck.

Beer is my shepherd, I shall not want (well, maybe occasionally I do).
Beer makes me lie down in green pastures (and sometimes on the pavement too),
and leads me beside still waters (sometimes they seem awfully stormy);
Beer restores my soul (yet I do prefer some metal music alongside).
Beer leads me in paths of righteousness (it sure does).
for the sake of Beer’s name (burp).

Some wood for the winter...

Some wood for the winter...

It’s been a couch day today. Watched a few episodes of True Blood, Season 2. It seems as good as the Season 1 was, highly recommended. I also gave the new sawbuck a test drive. It worked like a charm. Got a nice pile of wood sawed in no time.

Tools used in creation of sawbuck. Ignore the beer bottles, they aren't mine :P

I was supposed to chop wood all morning. I didn’t have a sawbuck so I had to make one. Good thing I had some spare 2 by 4’s and planks to use as construction material. Bad thing is, I’m an engineer and thus unable to do things the easy way. I had an idea to make the sawbuck portable so it would be easy to take it with you.

I had to think of a way to make it fold to a neat package. I decided to do a wooden axle and it turned out great. It’s really sturdy and as compact as possible when folded. Well… I didn’t have material to do the axle nor the tools to drill big enough holes for it to the 2×4’s so I had to visit a hardware store. All in all I spent several hours planning, gathering the materials and building the sawbuck. And yes, few assembly beers as well :)

Now I have an exemplary sawbuck but I didn’t have the time nor the energy to actually cut any wood today. Now it’s time to get a few reward beers, a shower and to get ready for tonight’s gig. Viikate is playing @ Lutakko, Jyväskylä tonight! Rock on!

For some reason I’m always pretty efficient on Thursdays. Today was no exception. I worked without breaks all day and got a lot done.

Aziz also inspired one of my blog’s devoted readers to do some paper folding. This is huge – it’s my first fan art request and I even got a photo of the final product – yay! Beware of these paper kamikazes flying all around the friendly skies.

I’ll be a big brand before you even know it, honest. :P

UPDATE: Achtung! Aziz has been recruiting look-alikes. They are spreading like a disease.

I totally forgot that it was Monday yesterday. No wonder the day was crap. Good thing the evening was great and compensated the day nicely.

Today it was all different. Nice morning coffee with delicious bread at Henry’s Café and I even got it on the house. How great is that? Some preparations with newly arrived computers on the side with breakfast and then I was off to help one of my colleagues who was visiting at Jämsä. In between our normal line of work we did some vacuuming and waved dust cloths around the campus – you’ll never know what you’ll have to while working as an IT-specialist :P

I even got some paper to my office. Now I can print my to-do lists on paper instead of writing enormous to-do lists to my phone. Oh joy!

Reino six months young.

Reino six months young.

Today was crap.

Right until after work when we went to see our godson Reino, who is already six months old. We had a tiny photo shoot and enjoyed some coffee with other yummies while observing the little guy work his magic. For the photo shoot I got a sheep pelt and Reino really seemed to like it. He made us all smile and forget all the bleep that hit the fan earlier today.

400nM is enough to pull heavy loads.

Volvo didn't mind pulling heavy loads of wood.

Oops, I totally forgot. This Sunday was dedicated for hard work. We made firewood the whole day. Drove three trips with a trailer to get those woods home. Let the winter come, ’cause wood is what I’ve got.
